Week 11 comes towards the end of your first trimester. You’ve almost made it through all the nausea, fatigue, and mood swings. Right about now you will start to notice some changes happening to your body physically. A dark line, called the linea nigra, may appear vertically down the center of your belly. Along with this dark line, vaginal discharge may increase as well. You may also see an increase in gas that will lead to flatulence and burping around this time. Isn’t pregnancy grand?!
Your baby now has ten little fingers and ten little toes. Buds are forming where baby teeth will later grow, and your child’s eyelids are sealed shut while the iris forms. Baby’s skin is still see-through, but he is on his way to looking more and more like a newborn each day. There is now a 1:1 head to body ratio, and your child is measuring in at 1.6 inches long and tipping the scales at .25 ounces.
